Corin Corley/Lancelot of the Lake
[ send me this paper ]
A 3 page essay that explores the ramifications of the ceremony that makes the young Lancelot into a full knight. Cost of the Roman State/Aeneid
[ send me this paper ]
A 6 page essay that explores the cost of the Roman state against the sufferings of the Trojan wanderers in Virgil's Aeneid. Citing specifically the story of Dido and Aeneas, as well as the Trojan women attempting to torch the fleet, the writer argues that by exploring Virgil's use of fire imagery, it becomes evident that Virgil portrays action that distracts Aeneas and his men from their destiny as antithetical to society. Though he will not have his son or his wife with him through the journey, Creon finds he has come to the beginning of wisdom. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

Critical Analysis of Chaucer’s “The Wife of Bath’s Tale”
[ send me this paper ]
This is a 4 page critical analysis of Chaucer’s “The Wife of Bath’s Tale”. Geoffrey Chaucer’s “The Wife of Bath’s Prologue and Tale” reveals a 14th century character and tale of a woman considered as one of the first feminists. The Wife of Bath is portrayed as an independent woman who, having been widowed five times already still has a desire as to what she and any woman would want in another marriage. Contrary to beliefs at the time, the Wife also feels that she has learned most of her knowledge about marriage by experience and not the Church. Also through her own tale-within-a-tale she reveals that what women want are young, virile men who give their wives love, respect and sovereignty of the household. For her, men who do not fulfill these requirements and are disrespectful to their wives only desires the plague.

Dante's 9th Circle/A Contemporary Vision
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page research paper that discusses Dante Alighieri's medieval masterpiece The Divine Comedy. The writer states that this poem is a profound statement on medieval theology, but is also a commentary by Dante on medieval society. These verses picture Dante, being led by the pagan poet Virgil, through Hell, Purgatory and Heaven. In Hell, i.e., The Inferno, Dante pictures meeting notorious sinners: some contemporary with his era; some from the past. This inspires the question of how the present day's most notorious compare to those whom Dante included in his epic poem. The writer discusses John Walker Lindh, Timothy McVeigh, Jeffrey Dahmer and the Unabomber in relation to where they would go in the Ninth Circle of Dante's vision of Hell. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
