IRANIANS in the United States
[ send me this paper ]
This 5 page paper discusses that Iranian school
textbooks teach that Iranians are only in the
boundaries of the country. There is no mention of
Iranians outside of Iran, and there is no mention
of a single female role model. However in folklore
it is said that, ``Iranians are like water in a
vase. If the vase is a globe, they become a globe;
if the vase is long-necked, they become long-
necked.'' Resolving this duality, or living within
it, is the challenge presented to Iranians who are
now living within the United States.

"The Venture of Islam": A Comparison of Islamic and Occidental Cultures
[ send me this paper ]
A 6 page comparison of the differences and similarities of Islamic and western culture and religion. Defines each term and provides a background as to beliefs and the stereotyping and misperceptions which have arisen between these two cultures. Outlines the important precepts of Islam and concludes that Islam, in fact, shares numerous ideological similarities with the world's occidental cultures. Of these similarities is the belief in mankind’s inherent insufficiencies. The goal of Islam and indeed occidental religions as well, is to overcome mankind's insufficiencies by directing man toward a better way and, coincidentally, a better world. 2 Views of Human Nature
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page essay that compares and contrasts 2 views of human nature. Referring to writings in Stevenson's The Study of Human Nature, the writer argues that St. Paul, in his Letter to the Romans and his First Letter to the Corinthians, presents the Christian view of human nature. Likewise, Stevenson uses an essay "Man and Faith" by Ayatullah Murtaza Mutahhari as representing the Islamic view of human nature. Examination of these two viewpoints shows that they have much in common, as they both view humanity as a composite of an animal (sinful) and rational (spiritual) nature. No additional sources cited.
